Marcos Valle is one of the most influential Brazilian composers and, undoubtedly, is among world’s top songwriters for more than 50 years. Along with Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Donato, Carlos Lyra, Roberto Menescal, & João Gilberto – Marcos is one of the original founders of Bossa Nova. Since mid-sixties he’s been creating the songs, that constantly have become top hits not only in Brazil, but around the world.
Among his international mega hits are “Crickets for Anamaria”, “Batucada”, “If you went away”, “The face I love”, “Lost in Tokyo subway”…
But his most famous song is, of course, “Summer Samba (So nice) ”, which, along with Antonio Carlos Jobim’s “Girl from Ipanema”, Paul McCartney’s “Yesterday” and Consuelo Velasquez’s ”Besame Mucho” is one of the most played and recorded compositions in the history of popular music. It was used in countless Hollywood and other blockbusters, including “James Bond 007” and was the opening theme of 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, seen by few billion people…Prior to becoming a world hit, ”Summer Samba” made its debut on a popular Andy Williams TV show in 1967, where Marcos sung it along with great Andy Williams. Later Jesse Sadoc made an amazing arrangement of “Summer Samba” for the full Symphony Orchestra (BOTH VERSIONS CAN BE PLAYED HERE IN OUR SITE).
Music of Marcos Valle has been widely performed and recorded by world’s superstars such as Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, Freddy Cole, Roberto Carlos, Sergio Mendes, Ricky Martin, Diana Krall, Chicago… world’s best Symphony orchestras…For more than five decades, Marcos Valle has been performing in the world’s most prestigious concert halls, palaces and clubs for kings, presidents and many fans of his great talent around the globe.
Frank Colon is one of the best percussionists in the history of Latin and Brazilian music.
As a percussionist of one of the most important vocal groups in history – “Manhattan Transfer” – Frank Colon was part of their 12 recordings, including two, that won Grammy Award. For many years Frank Colon has been conducting percussion clinics and workshops all over the world – one of them will take place at The Bass Museum of Modern Art on October 28th after Frank’s concert. His workshops not only explain and demonstrate the technical aspects of drumming, but also emphasize the possibilities of extending communicational and cultural exchange between all people through the universal language of music…
Jesse Sadoc – literally “The Golden Trumpet of Brazil” with the most unique sound and incredible technique... In 1982, when he opened Frank Sinatra’s show in legendary Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro with children’s orchestra, Frank Sinatra was so impressed by his playing, that he asked his trumpeter to present Jesse with his golden trumpet, which Frank later replaced in New York. Till this day Jesse always plays on it. Besides being one of the world’s best trumpeters and recording artists (Jesse recorded with many world stars from both Brazil & around the world), he is also one of Brazil’s top arrangers. He orchestrated and arranged Marcos Valle’s hit “Summer Samba”, Celso Fonseca’s “Slow motion Bossa Nova” among other world’s hits…
